Here at Reddish Joinery, we’re no stranger to completing a range of exciting projects. A series of installations we completed in the 1990s even saw us featured in a Grand Designs-type TV show: House Style.

House Style— The Grand Designs of its day

Produced by Granada Television and aired on ITV, House Style was a popular home improvement TV programme from the 1990s: the ‘Grand Designs’ of its day, if you will. In 1993, Reddish Joinery were lucky enough to be involved in one particular episode, where we were asked to provide the windows and doors to a house at Heaton Moor.

An Edwardian property in need of home improvement

The property in question dated from the Edwardian period was in need of brand new windows and doors. Reddish were approached to provide them. We carefully assessed the aesthetic of the property and its overall style, and recommended the best styles of windows and doors to suit the property.

After we had finished the installation, homeowners were so pleased that they commissioned us to build a new hardwood conservatory for the property! Conservatories were particularly popular in the 1990s and were seen as THE luxury home improvement you should invest in; much like the popularity of bi-folding doors today.
