Two beautiful tilt and slide sash window installations in Cheshire

Last Updated: 28 September 2023

Here at Reddish Joinery, we’re all about helping homeowners make the most of their home. More so than they originally anticipated in some cases. Imagine our surprise then, when we got to improve two properties with the exact same style of windows within such a short space of time. Accoya tilt and slide sash windows were all the rage recently, as evidenced by these two home improvement projects we were lucky enough to have a hand in.

Windows and door

Heaton Moor Stockport

Our first project took us to the sleepy suburb of Heaton Moor in Stockport, an area we’re more than familiar with where a new door and set of windows was desired. Luckily, tilt and slide sash windows engineered in Accoya wood were the perfect fit, very much in-keeping with the property’s natural vintage style but introducing modern function and performance. This authentic aesthetic was emphasised further, with each window fitted using 25mm Georgian bars.

Both the windows and accompanying Accoya door were finished in a subtle but attractive cream finish, all crafted and fitted to highly resist harsh weather elements thanks to the engineered wood construction. To the average onlooker outside, all four frames will appear as a traditional set of timber sash windows. Yet, by nature of the tilt and slide design, each sash can be easily adjusted to accommodate easy cleaning or to achieve optimal levels of ventilation. Needless to say, the homeowner in Heaton Moor was left a happy one!

Altrincham Manchester

The second job which also opted for Accoya tilt and slide sash windows took us to the quant Manchester market town of Altrincham. Much like Heaton Moor, we were asked to fit a new door as well as new windows, only this time they would be installed to work as one complete set and centre piece. All engineered in eco-friendly but high performance Accoya wood, two dual-opening French doors would be punctuated with a tilt and slide sash window either side.

Installed at the front of the house, this newly revitalised Accoya wood entrance could not only now be described as eye-catching but would also serve to keep this area insulated and comfortable. This is because of the wood’s natural heat retention capabilities. The beauty of tilt and slide sash windows, however, is that the space can equally be cooled without compromising security with just a tilt of the sash. Once again, the homeowner was impressed with the finished result.
